Conditions and guarantees when renting cars in Menorca

Booking and contracts

These conditions constitute a contract for the booking of a rental vehicle via the website of Balmes MenorcaAuto S.L.U. (www.balmesmenorca.com) with registered office at avenue Camí de Sa Beguda, 32 - Industrial estate "La Trotxa" 07730 Alaior, NIF: B57488900. Processing the booking entails the acceptance of all these conditions, which comply with Spanish legislation for users and consumers:

• Bookings made through the website are dependent on the confirmation sent by the company to the email address provided by the customer at the time of the request.
• The booking process concludes when the contract is formalized, handing in documentation (ID or passport and driver's license) and with the signatures of both the client and the company at the time of picking up the vehicle. The company reserves the right to reject a potential client who does not meet the minimum conditions.
• The booking is not necessarily linked to a particular vehicle, but to a group of vehicles with similar technical characteristics and space.
• The vehicle is rented for exclusive use on the island of Menorca, therefore, its use outside Menorca is forbidden.
• The minimum anticipation to make an online booking is 12 hours. The telephone service number is +34 971 371 893.

The final price includes

• TOTAL COVERAGE: FULL RISK INSURANCE WITHOUT DEDUCTIBLE (body, wheels, underbody, windows, mirrors and theft)
• Child safety systems
• Additional drivers
• Pick up and return of the vehicle anywhere in the island
• Roadside assistance (24 hours)
• Unlimited mileage
• Taxes (VAT 21%).

The final price DOES NOT include

• Damages or losses caused to any personal object that is inside the vehicle.
• Damage caused by negligence or willfully caused to any part of the inside of the vehicle.
• Loss or breakage of the key.
• Improper fuel refueling.
• Damage caused to the vehicle due to speeding or violation of the traffic regulations or driving with altered faculties due to the use of narcotic drugs, alcoholic beverages, etc.
• Penalties imposed due to non-compliance with the traffic regulations.

Methods of payment (no credit card required*)

• You can pay in cash (up to 1000 €), with credit or debit card and by bank transfer.
• (*) unless the full/full fuel option is chosen, or a vehicle subject to franchise is selected.

Driver's age

• Drivers under the age of 25 must select the Opel Corsa | year 2014, for the booking to be accepted. For more information, contact info@balmesmenorca.com
• Minimum age 20 years and driving license with more than 1 year old.

Cancelations

• The cancelation of a reservation is free, if this is requested at least 48 hours in advance. The company will proceed to the refund of the total amount paid within​ 24 HOURS.
• If the cancelation of a reservation is requested less than 48 hours in advance, the amount of a day's rent will be charged.
• If the customer does not collect the vehicle on the date shown in the reservation, it will be considered cancelled and without the right to any type of monetary refund.
• Modifications to a reservation are free, but they should be communicated by email to info@balmesmenorca.com

Vehicle Cleaning

• Smoking is prohibited inside the vehicle.
• It is prohibited to leave trash or waste objects inside the vehicle at the end of the rental.
• Reasonable dirt from vehicle use is acceptable; in this case, cleaning is not necessary.
• If the interior or exterior dirt is excessive, the client must clean the vehicle at the end of the rental.

Fuel

The available options, to be selected at the time of booking, are:

• full/full. Requires a credit card, which is requested at the time of signing the contract. A retention of €120 applies.
• with sufficient fuel. No credit card required. The client must return the vehicle with at least the same amount of fuel than that delivered. No refunds will be made if the fuel level exceeds the initial one.

Vehicle pick up

• Airport, ports, hotels, and apartments
  We will deliver the vehicle directly to you on-site, with no external transfers required.
  According to the information we will send you in advance, the process will be carried out in one of these two ways:

1. Self-Service (Recommended)
   No staff present. Simply follow the easy instructions you will receive via email and WhatsApp approximately 30 minutes before pick-up.
2. Personal handover
   A member of our team, identifiable by a "BALMES MENORCA" company badge, will hand over the vehicle to you.

Vehicle return

• Airport and ports
  The vehicle will be returned in the same premises.
• Hotels, apartments, etc.
  The vehicle will be parked in the spaces available for the tenants.
• The amount corresponding to one extra day of rental can be charged if the return of the vehicle exceeds 60 minutes of the agreed time when formalizing the contract.

Self-service and return of the vehicle

• The company may arrange self-service and return of the vehicle, meaning without the presence of company personnel. In that case, it will be a quick and easy process where you just need to follow the instructions received via email and WhatsApp.
• At the airport, the cost of the parking exit ticket will be the customer's responsibility, while the company will cover the ticket for the day of return.

Extras

• The child safety systems (groups 0+, I, II and III) are FREE.
• ISOFIX child safety systems (groups 0, I, II and III) cost €5 per day.
• Additional drivers are FREE.
• The pick up of the vehicle by a customer before 08:00 hours costs €25.
• Vehicle pickup after 10:30 p.m. will be done self-service.
• Pickup after 10:30 p.m. with company staff present will have a fee of €40.
